Not sure how far of a radius from the colesium you are going but I highly recommend the “poop deck” (I do NOT have any vested interest in this place either) in hermosa beach as thats a Husker bar. Its right on the beach, its close to a ton of other bars on the beach.. its what most people think of LA when they are from somewhere else (other than the Hollywood part) and its quite inexpensive. Parking can be tough though.

You should give them the map that really freaks out people from the midwest. Had some midwest house guests out here, and saw this map in my bookmarks, all the earthquakes scared them even though you couldn’t feel them.

In that diagram of places to go in l.a, i’d definately highlight the hollywood spots for nightlife. downtown isnt a great place to be hanging out.
May even want to send them to Santa Monica, Westwood, etc..

Thanks again Trojan Wire for putting this together and to all the commenters for offering suggestions! It is nice for Husker fans to receive such a warm welcome.
We will be sure to return the favor when you come to Lincoln next year!

OK, nice job pretending Phi Delt still exists.
Oh, and definitely point out Hollywood hot-spots such as LAX, Mood and Privledge…Husker fans should have no problems getting in.
4:28 pm
Can’t wait to get out there and see what this real America thing is all about next year.
I won’t even need to ask where all the white women are at, they’re all that’s there right? Well, unless you have a women’s football team we haven’t heard about.
5:10 pm
i added the Pantry, Roscoes, Tommys, Amoeba and Poop Deck.

Don’t forget to include Taylor’s Steak House on 8th. Not too far from El Cholo’s.

Apple Pan
It is on W Pico E of Sepulvida. It has been there forever and features a great hamburger and apple pie. Be prepared to stand in line…
Someone needs to go there to see if it is still in business. I’m from Illinois and last visited the Apple Pan about 3 years ago. My friends also liked eating there…
